OUR VALUES

Who is Mehad

OUR Action Principles

Mehad’s work is grounded in strong principles and values that guide our mission.

HUMANISM:

We are committed to universal access to healthcare and upholding human dignity. Our care is provided free of charge, without discrimination based on nationality, religion, political affiliation, gender, skin color, or sexual orientation.

COMMITMENT:

Our history and ongoing actions reflect this core value. For over 13 years, a dedicated network of healthcare professionals and civil society members from the diaspora has worked to support communities affected by conflict.

INDEPENDENCE AND TRANSPARENCY:

The best interests of local communities are what guides our actions. We remain independent of external influences and carry out our work with full transparency.

COLLABORATIVE DEVELOPMENT:

The eagerness to work with our local partners and co-develop the healthcare systems of tomorrow is at the core of our DNA. We are convinced that the most efficient solutions stem from dialogue and joint action with the populations we assist.

All of Mehad’s actions point toward two objectives. First is the sustainability of healthcare systems. The second is inherent: these healthcare systems and their development must be led by and for local populations. Sustaining dependency through humanitarian efforts undermines one of the fundamental requirements for the success of our mission: empowering and enabling local communities.

LOCAL ACTORS AT THE HEART OF OUR COMMITMENT:

Mehad reaffirms its commitment to sustainable healthcare systems and engages in a constructive collaboration approach with local actors to ensure the delivery of quality care and long-term social development for vulnerable populations. Through our in-depth understanding of local needs and our long-standing partnerships, our NGO has developed unique expertise in addressing local emergencies and health and developmental issues.
