Our Action

3 principles of advocacy

As an international humanitarian organization, one of Mehad’s core objectives is to carry out advocacy efforts to raise awareness among the general public and the international community about the humanitarian situation faced by populations affected by armed conflicts. It is essential for everyone to recognize the urgent need to build sustainable healthcare systems that will ensure long-term development for these communities.

We will continue to raise awareness about the urgent need for action, engage and inform public opinion, and remind decision-makers of their responsibilities until populations benefit from a sustainable healthcare system. It is essential that they take the necessary decisions and measures to improve the conditions of the communities we support in the field.

As an international humanitarian organization, Mehad is developing an advocacy strategy around three principles:

1

The highlighting of political, social, and economic crises with humanitarian impacts.

2

Advocating for populations’ right to access basic services and fundamental rights.

3

Pressure on state or non-state entities that influence crisis dynamics, whether international, national, or local.

Mehad regularly has the opportunity to speak out in the media and on behalf of international or local organizations. It acts both independently and in partnership with other NGOs to highlight the dire situation of the populations it serves, advocate for access to healthcare, and call for the intervention of international or regional organizations capable of influencing the course of events.
