What are Mehad's missions?
Mehad is a French NGO focused on health and international solidarity. It is committed to raising awareness about the urgent need to build sustainable healthcare systems that ensure long-term development for communities hand in hand with local actors. Mehad carries out essential missions for populations, relying on a network of over 1,000 healthcare professionals engaged from France and around the world.
Mehad was founded in 2011 by a group of doctors who sought to respond to the urgent need for healthcare for populations affected by the war in Syria and neighboring countries. Since 2022, Mehad has also been operating in Ukraine and plans interventions in Palestine and Yemen in 2024.

Where are Mehad's headquarters located? Who works there?
The headquarters of Mehad is at 100 ter Avenue de Saint-Mandé, in the 12th district of Paris. The headquarters employs around fifteen staff members, who are responsible for coordinating between our various field missions and institutional partners while also managing the different activities paramount for the smooth operation of the association (communications, human resources, accounting, etc.).

How can I support Mehad?

Monthly donations are debited on the 5th of each month. The payment date is non-adjustable.
• Solidarity fundraising: You can organize a fundraising campaign for a personal event, such as a birthday, birth, or wedding. To do so, you can use an online fundraising platform or contact us to create a personalized donation form for you.
Can I support Mehad in ways other than making a donation?
Yes, you can support Mehad by:
• Becoming a volunteer: Volunteers are essential to the success of our actions and events. By offering their skills, motivation, and time, whether on a one-time or long-term basis, they help raise awareness of our association and enrich our work.
You can fill out this form to become a volunteer whether you’re a student, retired, employed, or seeking work.
• Sharing our updates on your social media: You can share content from Mehad’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages—this is already a great help!

Are the transactions secure?
The security of the transactions you make through our donation form is a top priority for us. This form is 100% secure. All banking information required to process the payment is encrypted using SSL protocol and is not stored on our systems. In other words, your banking details are not shared with us when you make a donation.
How will my donation be used?
€97 is allocated to our field-based social missions out of every €100 spent by Mehad. The remaining 3% is used to fund the administrative structure of the association and fundraising efforts.
Our accounts are audited and certified by the international firm Baker Tilly and an independent auditor.
Can I designate my donation to a specific mission?
Like many other NGOs, Mehad does not designate donations but instead pools them across all its missions.
This approach allows us to respond based on actual needs on the ground rather than financial considerations or the high media coverage of emergency situations. Therefore, if donations exceed the commitments made, the excess will be redirected to other priorities.
However, we can allocate your donation to a specific area of intervention or project upon your request, provided it is viable.
How can I be sure that my donation reaches the areas of intervention?
We are committed to being impeccable in managing our donations, in line with our obligations to our donors, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union, and to you, our supporters, who have placed your trust in us.

MY DONATION TO MEHAD
I can't make my donation through your online form.
There may have been a minor glitch (an extra space, a field incorrectly filled out, etc.). We invite you to double-check all your personal information.
After a failed donation attempt, the donation platform may temporarily block the associated email address for 24 hours to prevent any risk of hacking. If you believe this applies to you, please try donating again after this period or contact us to request the block be lifted.

I would like to make a donation by check to Mehad.
To donate by check, we invite you to enter your details on the online donation platform and click the “Pay by Check” button. You will be prompted to print a form to attach to your check. This form includes all the information regarding your donation by check, which should be sent to the following address:

I would like to set up a regular donation by bank transfer.
We highly encourage you to make your donation through our 100% secure online donation platform. You have two options:
– Set up a donation by credit card.
– Set up a donation by direct debit (IBAN).
We prefer this method of donation as it allows us to more easily track your contribution and generate your tax receipts quickly and efficiently. How to modify my monthly donation?
If you wish to change the amount of your monthly donation by credit card, please log in to your personal account and make the change under the “your history” section.

I wish to stop or suspend my monthly donation, how can I do this?
We deeply appreciate the support you provide, which ensures access to sustainable and equitable healthcare in conflict zones and allows us to respond effectively to emergencies as they arise. However, we understand that continuing your monthly donation may no longer be possible. We can offer you other ways to support us.
For example, you can reduce the amount of your donation or suspend it for a period of time.
If you wish to change the amount of your donation or suspend a credit card donation, please log in to your personal account and make the change under the “your history” section.
If you wish to suspend your direct debit donation, please request it by mail, by phone at +33 (0) 9 77 19 77 51, or by email at relation.donateurs@mehad.fr.
Please note that any changes to your monthly donation must be submitted to us before the 5th of the month in order to stop the upcoming payment.
tax deductions
What tax deduction can I benefit from by donating to Mehad?
If you reside in France, your donation entitles you to a tax deduction of 75% of your donation as an individual, and 60% as a business.
Tax benefits may also apply to residents of other countries.

When will I receive my tax receipt?
- One-time donation: for your one-time donation by credit card or PayPal, a tax receipt is sent within hours of your donation (exceptionally, it may take a few days). For a one-time donation by check, the tax receipt is sent upon receipt and after processing by our teams (allow about ten days).
- Monthly donation: for a monthly donation by credit card or direct debit, we will send you the tax receipt corresponding to your donations during the second quarter of the following year.
Please note: Tax receipts are only applicable for tax residents of France and certain other countries with similar charitable donation tax deduction policies. If you are not a tax resident of an eligible country, you may not be able to claim tax benefits for your donation. For specific information about tax deductions in your country, please consult your local tax authorities.
How to get a duplicate of my tax receipt?
Before requesting a duplicate, please search through your email history. In most cases, your receipt is already there!
