Building on its experience in crisis regions, Mehad, which initially operated in Syria, has expanded its activities to neighboring countries and other conflict zones, including Ukraine, Palestine, Yemen, and, more recently, Lebanon.
Syria is the birthplace of Mehad’s commitment. Our NGO was founded by doctors committed to addressing the urgent healthcare needs of populations impacted by civil war.
With over twelve years of expertise in war medicine gained in Syria, Mehad quickly mobilized to apply its skills in support of those affected when the conflict erupted in Ukraine in 2022.
According to the UN, Yemen is facing the “worst humanitarian crisis in the world.” In July 2024, Mehad launched an intervention program in Yemen, leveraging its experience in managing healthcare systems in conflict zones.
Drawing on our NGO’s extensive experience in conflict zones, Mehad has implemented a crisis intervention program in the West Bank to meet the urgent health needs of civilians.
