Duha, a two-year-old girl from Al-Hol, overcame severe acute malnutrition (SAM) thanks to the integrated care she received at the nutrition clinic at Al-Hol hospital.

In October 2024, Doha was suffering from severe malnutrition, weighed 8 kg and measured 78 cm, while the circumference of her arm was 11.9 cm. However, thanks to the considerable efforts of the hospital’s medical and nutritional team and four months of continuous care, her condition has improved considerably to 9.7 kg, 78.5 cm in height and 12.7 cm in arm circumference.

These results testify to the soundness of the medical care and adherence to appropriate nutritional therapy. The hospital’s nutrition technician praised the team’s dedication, stressing that the improvement in Doha’s condition was the result of the comprehensive care and ongoing monitoring provided by the medical team.

Duha’s mother expressed her deep gratitude for the excellent services her daughter has received, while highlighting the challenges the family faces, such as the distance between care centres and difficult living conditions.

MEHAD is committed to providing healthcare to children in hard-to-reach areas and to helping families overcome health and economic challenges.
We are proud to have succeeded in improving the lives of many children like Doha.
