Mehad takes part in a conference on mental health in wartime in Kyiv

28 March 2025

Mehad recently took part in a major conference on mental health in the context of conflict, organised by Médicos del Mundo in Kyiv. The event brought together experts in the field to discuss the psychological challenges faced by people affected by war, particularly carers and veterans.

Raising awareness and managing stress: Mehad’s contributions

At the meeting, Natalia Sobko, who is responsible for coordinating Mehad’s rehabilitation project, took part in a round table discussion on ethical communication with veterans. Her speech underlined the importance of training carers to adopt an approach that is sensitive and adapted to the trauma suffered by veterans.

Nataliya Danylova, head of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Programme (MHPSS), led a practical workshop on stress management for carers. This interactive session provided an opportunity to share the best practices implemented as part of Mehad’s rehabilitation project for war wounded.

Improving access to psychological care

Faced with the psychological consequences of conflict, Mehad continues to promote a global approach to mental health by building the capacity of professionals and developing solutions tailored to the most vulnerable populations. Our participation in this conference is part of our desire to cooperate with other players involved in meeting the psychological needs of war victims.
