Our teams, with the support of Expertise France, have organised specialist training on child and newborn health at our training centre in Raqqa.

For four days, 27 healthprofessionals, including doctors, nurses and midwives from various centres in the north and east of Syria, met to enhance their skills. The aim was to enable them to provide high-quality care based on the latest protocols and research recommendations. This alternation between theoretical input and practical workshops was designed to bring about concrete improvements in paediatric care in their facilities.

A lasting impact for the local healthcare system

This programme is part of Mehad’s strategy to build local medical capacity in a sustainable way. The participants will in turn pass on this knowledge to their colleagues who were unable to attend the session, thereby ensuring that best practice is disseminated more widely within the healthcare system.

In a context where paediatric needs remain high and resources limited, this initiative is helping to improve access to safe, high-quality care for children from the very first days of life.
