Ukraine: Continuing Despite Instability

14 January 2026

Since December, the situation in Ukraine has remained extremely difficult for civilians and humanitarian teams. Attacks have intensified, causing power cuts lasting up to 20 hours a day, frequent interruptions to Internet and telephone services, and difficulties in heating.

Against this backdrop, Mehad’s teams remain fully mobilised in the rehabilitation centres for the war-wounded, offering comprehensive support combining physical, psychological and social assistance. Every day, they work to ensure that patients continue to receive essential care, appropriate follow-up and support in their daily lives, despite the extremely difficult conditions.

The challenges are many: food, heating, communication, but also stress and fatigue for the staff, who must remain vigilant in the face of constant risks. Despite this, the commitment and courage of our teams enable the victims to retain a little normality and hope in the midst of chaos.
