From the heart of Sallam Hospital in Al-Hol, our lens documented a caesarean section for a beneficiary, a scene that reflects MEHAD’s relentless efforts to ensure that mothers and newborns receive comprehensive health care in accordance with the highest medical standards.

Since 2020, MEHAD has been supporting Salam Hospital as the first place of refuge for women in the town of Al-Hol and the surrounding villages up to the city of Hasakah.

Specialised doctors carefully study each case and make the final decision to perform a caesarean section to preserve the life of the mother and fetus after exhausting the opportunities for natural birth.

The paediatrician immediately examines the newborn to check on its health, and the mother receives postnatal care to ensure her full recovery.
With 1199 Caesarean sections performed in 2024, an average of more than 100 per month, the hospital continues to receive cases every day, 24 hours a day, reflecting the confidence of the beneficiaries in the medical services provided.

In order to provide a safe working environment, strict hygiene and sterilisation procedures are applied to ensure the safety of mothers and newborns and protect them from infection.

As the only facility in the region that offers free reproductive health services, Salam Belhoul Hospital is the cornerstone of integrated maternal and neonatal healthcare and promotes safe deliveries in a state-of-the-art medical environment.

Thanks to the efforts of Mehad… Generations are born so that life blooms and independence shines.
