Creating to rebuild: Mehad’s got talent!

In Ukraine, Mehad supports veterans and those wounded in war through their rehabilitation journey. Alongside physical rehabilitation and psychosocial support, art therapy plays a special role: it provides a space to express emotions, heal invisible wounds and gradually regain self-confidence.

Through drawing, painting or free creative expression, everyone can express in a different way what is sometimes difficult to put into words. These sessions promote calm, concentration and personal healing, whilst revealing often unexpected strengths. They also provide an ideal opportunity for psychologists to engage with patients in a more informal and relaxed manner.

As the sessions progressed, some participants also revealed a genuine artistic talent. Whether paintings, landscapes, portraits or more abstract compositions, their works demonstrate great sensitivity and remarkable creativity.
