Diagnosed with thalassaemia at the age of five, Kawthar was regularly receiving blood transfusions at a specialised centre in Aleppo, but with the recent security situation in the city, her family was forced to move to Raqqa to complete her treatment in a more stable environment.
At the Mehad Centre, Kawthar has benefited from comprehensive medical services. She has received two blood transfusions so far and her health condition is regularly monitored. It should be noted that she receives monthly blood transfusions after having a splenectomy, which has reduced her need for frequent blood transfusions, which has helped improve her quality of life.
Kawthar’s father expressed his deep gratitude for the excellent healthcare provided by the Mehad Centre, praising the comprehensive services provided by the centre, including the ongoing psychological support for patients and the full availability of medicines, as well as the competence of the medical staff at the centre and their good treatment of patients, reflecting their commitment to providing the best level of care.
The Mehad Centre continues to provide specialised and effective medical services to thalassaemia patients, and strives to improve their quality of life through medical and psychological support, making the centre a model in healthcare for such cases.
