In Mazraat al-Andalus, north of Raqqa, 15-year-old Mohammed al-Faraj was involved in an accident that resulted in a broken left elbow. On the recommendation of doctors at the National Hospital, Mohammed underwent a shadow radiography to determine the exact nature of the fracture, confirm the diagnosis and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
During the course of his treatment, Mohammed visited the radiology department – supported by MEHAD – four times, during which he underwent the necessary radiographs to monitor the healing of the fracture, until his last visit culminated in his full recovery and the removal of his cast. The radiological imaging services facilitated diagnosis and follow-up, without burdening the patient with additional financial burdens.
Mohammed’s father praised the importance of this service and its positive impact on the community, saying:
“Previously, we relied on traditional means of treating fractures due to the lack of health facilities and the difficulty of accessing the service. Today, thanks to the availability of radiology services at MEHAD, patients receive an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment without any financial cost.”
Radiography is an essential medical diagnostic tool, enabling doctors to detect injuries early and make accurate decisions that ensure effective patient care.
Mehad’s continued support of healthcare services, including radiography, reflects its commitment to enhancing the quality of medical services and ensuring that patients have access to integrated and free healthcare.
