The programme covered essential topics such as an introduction to renal failure and the scientific principles of dialysis, the management of dialysis sessions, procedural safety standards and infection control methods in dialysis units. The participants also honed their skills in the operation and use of dialysis machines, as well as procedures relating to dialysis catheters and arteriovenous connections. Nursing care before, during and after dialysis sessions also featured prominently.

This training aims toimprove the quality of healthcare offered to patients suffering from kidney failure in a region whereaccess to such care is very limited. It will also help to improve local medical practices in this crucial area.

Mehad is thus reaffirming his commitment to raising the standard of healthcare provided to haemodialysis patients, while improving the skills of practitioners to meet the vital needs of the population.
