From bombed hospitals to mobile clinics, find out more about Mehad’s vital work with health professionals in conflict zones.
Focus on our operations in Syria
In war zones, health workers are faced with extreme conditions: destroyed infrastructures, difficult access to care and constant insecurity. In Syria, where hospitals are regularly targeted and destroyed, local medical teams are working in extremely precarious conditions and under intense psychological stress.
Faced with this dramatic situation, Mehad is intervening on the ground with mobile medical and mental health clinics. These mobile units make it possible to bypass the destroyed infrastructure and reach the most isolated populations, particularly in camps for displaced persons, schools and primary health centres. They provide a safe environment for medical staff, guaranteeing continuity of care, even in emergency situations.
These mobile clinics ensure accurate diagnosis, as well as psychological monitoring of patients by dedicated teams. In addition, the mobile teams distribute information leaflets, make home visits and identify beneficiaries in need of care.
Training local carers
At the heart of humanitarian medical aid, Mehad focuses on building the capacity of local healthcare professionals. Our specialist training courses cover emergency management, the treatment of conflict-related trauma and mental health in crisis situations.
This support contributes to the sustainability of healthcare systems in conflict zones and fosters community resilience. By training skilled teams, Mehad guarantees sustainable support for vulnerable populations.
