Nurse Rajab Al-Abdullah has been working with dedication and devotion at the dialysis centre in Al-Kasra district since he joined MEHAD’s medical team five years ago. During this time, Rajab has become a living example of dedication and commitment to providing outstanding patient care, dedicating his efforts to be an active element in improving health services and contributing to building a healthy and sustainable community.

In his daily duties, Rajab is mainly involved in assisting doctors during medical examinations of patients, and supervises the administration of medicines to them as directed by the doctor. He also plays a pivotal role in carrying out routine daily check-ups, and ensures that medical equipment is set up and equipped efficiently to ensure accurate and safe delivery of services. In addition, Rajab is responsible for documenting patients’ medical data and submitting it to the supervising physician on a regular basis, which contributes to improving the quality of healthcare provided.

Rajab’s professional development reflects his constant interest in developing his skills. He has undergone several outstanding training courses provided by the Mahad Training and Capacity Building Centre in Raqqa. These courses included vital topics such as CPR, infection control, first aid, as well as specialised training in dialysis patient care, which helped him enhance his technical skills and handle complex cases more efficiently.

Speaking about his experience, Rajab said: “I found in patient care a true passion and love for work, and I consider my work at the Mehad Centre as an opportunity to develop my skills and learn a lot in the field of healthcare. The trainings I underwent were very useful and allowed me to gain extensive knowledge in dealing with patients and providing them with the best care.”

Rajab added: “What drove me to join MEHAD was a deep desire to provide support and care to those in need, especially in areas that lack basic health services. This was a strong motivation for me to work in this humanitarian field and help my people in difficult circumstances.”

Rajab Al Abdullah’s story is a model of dedication and humanitarianism, and proves that continuous training and professional development can have a profound impact in improving healthcare and strengthening the health system in underprivileged communities. Rajab’s efforts not only improve the lives of patients, but also contribute to building a health system that is more resilient to future challenges.
