In Loder, Yemen, MEHAD recently delivered a shipment of essential medicines to the hospital we support, in response to a health and nutrition emergency that is hitting IDPs and local communities hard.
This delivery includes 1,000 vials of insulin, as well as treatments for chronic diseases (diabetes and hypertension) , respiratory infections, infectious diseases and medical emergencies. These medicines will provide treatment for about 10,000 people for three to four months.
Thanks to this intervention, diabetes patients can once again access their treatment for free, an essential support in a context where access to care is very limited. The hospital’ s pharmacists have also been trained to ensure strict stock management of medicines.

Commitment to 2024
Since July 2024, MEHAD has been supporting Loder Hospital by strengthening its core services: Emergency, Maternity, Paediatrics, Malnutrition Treatment, and Vaccination Centre. We also support medical teams through ongoing training, to ensure high-quality care and build local capacity for the long term.
Emergency Response, Expanded Project
This project is implemented with the support of the Crisis and Support Centre of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
Our teams are currently working on the ground to assess needs, define a new roadmap and prepare a project extension to provide a sustainable response to the needs of the most vulnerable populations.
